After 50+ years of building a legacy, Dodec is transforming their marketing

Industries Dodec has machined, welded and repaired the heavy parts behind dams, smelters and mines since 1975, and stayed better known to its customers than to anyone else. When the marketer left, the work landed on Léonard Ruelland, who stepped in for two weeks and carried it for ten months. Now the shop's projects, open roles and people go out every week, and the name travels with them.

The challenge

Five founders opened a machine shop in Chicoutimi in 1975 and named it with the last letter of each of their first names: Dodec. Fifty years on, about 90 people machine, weld and repair parts for hydro dams, aluminum smelters and mines. The work earned Dodec a strong name in its industry, but they needed to expand their visibility to really grow.

When the marketing employee left in October 2025, Léonard Ruelland stepped in for two weeks and was still carrying the job ten months later, on top of the one he was hired for. The material was all there: project photos, certifications, open roles, sitting in internal files. Publishing meant starting from scratch every time.

The solution

Put Dodec and its four sister companies on one shared calendar, and turn what the shop already has into a steady presence where buyers and future hires look.

01

Show the work only Dodec can do

Published project stories show buyers the scale and precision of the work, one mandate at a time.

02

Recruit where the trades already are

Welder, machinist and CNC roles run with a signing bonus and year-round work, aimed straight at the shortage that limits the floor.

03

Let the culture show

Staff collections, shop visits and team features round out the mix, so candidates meet the company before the interview.

The results

In nine weeks, 37 pieces went out as 53 posts across Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, with a median of 5.8 days from draft to live. Dodec plans more of the calendar itself every month, and the cadence holds without anyone outside the company pushing it.

Work that used to be rebuilt from scratch now clears review in under six days. And the shop that spent fifty years known mostly to its customers now measures the difference. Impressions across the group's five brands grew 222% from July to August. Reach passed 59,000 by mid-September, and engagement across channels blended to 5.8%. Their system is working: people are seeing the Dodec brands who didn't before, and the content they're sharing is connecting.

I love working with Glowtify. It's intuitive, and we see our numbers climbing every week: we ran a post that got 15,000 views quickly after we started. We know our name is getting out there.
